Exploring Your Assets and Securing Your Future were purchased by a local bank, The First National Bank & Trust Company of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and distributed to fifth grade students in area schools. The complete list of Oklahoma schools is: Chickasha, Tuttle, Blanchard, Amber/Pocasset, Dibble, Middleberg, Mustang, Minco, Cyril, Rush Springs, Alex and Newcastle.
The article reported The First National Bank & Trust encourages other banks and financial institutions to accept the "FNBT Challenge” initiative, which is to purchase and donate copies of Finance Matters! to their local schools. Nancy Smith, senior vice president and bank director, knows the book is written to help prepare kids for handling their money now and, ultimately, for life.
"...we at First National Bank feel it is crucial that children learn at an early age the value of money and to properly manage it," she said. She also reported bank employees and officers will also be donating their time in the classroom as guest speakers.
